"Dark, deep ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is refined and aromatic with ripe, dark red berry and cherry fruit unfolding ethereal dark-red and violet florals, and nuances of dark herbs and mineral detail. This is soft in expression with a tightly bound heart. Medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of dark red cherries, berries and plums are lifted by violet aromatics and flow with sweetness and richness. The mouthfeel is harmonious and silky-smooth, with very fine, flowery tannins and balanced acidity providing a refined line. The flavours carry seamlessly to a fragrant, ethereal finish of red fruits and florals. This is a soft, rich and aromatic Pinot Noir with a harmonious and seamless-flowing mouthfeel and fine-grained tannins. Match with duck and pork dishes over the next 5-6 years. Clones Abel, 6, 10/5, 777, 115, 667, 5 and 13, 60% from the ‘Sutherland’, 6% from the ‘Todd’ and 34% from the ‘McLeod’ blocks of the ‘Home’ vineyard, fermented with 5% whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 24% new French oak."
